Hi,

I'm Alanna

As a mother of three children, I get it—starting a new family comes with a whole world of feelings, from joy to stress. You don't have to navigate this journey alone. I'm here to offer you balance, comfort, and the support you deserve.

My Journey to Becoming a Doula:

I became a birth doula in 2021 after giving birth to my first two children in 2018 and 2019. I’ve always thought birth was beautiful and mother’s deserved someone holding space for their needs and cheering them on in their decisions. After attending a few births, I recognized there was also a need for continuing support immediately postpartum and into the fourth trimester. I became a postpartum doula in 2022 so I could ensure that continuing support for my clients. At the beginning of 2023, I also became a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator so I could further provide my clients with evidence-based information so they can make fully-informed decisions for themselves and their babies.

What Sets Me Apart:

What sets me apart is my commitment to you. You're not just another client; you're a mom who deserves to feel confident, heard, and cared for. I tailor my support to your unique needs, whether it's helping you with creating a birth plan, providing emotional and physical support during labor, help with breastfeeding, or simply holding space for your emotions as you process your journey to parenthood.

What I Believe:

I don't just focus on hip squeezes and breathing techniques; I take a holistic approach that includes nurturing you, the mother. The journey from Maiden to Mother is not a solo act—it takes a supportive community, and I aim to be a valuable part of yours.

My Approach:

Personalized Support:

Your story is unique, and so are your needs. Whether you're a first-time mom or adding another bundle of joy to your family, I adapt my support to fit your situation.

Knowledgeable Care:

I don't just go by the book; I stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. I empower my families with all the information available and trust their intuition to make the best decisions.

Flexibility:

Life doesn't operate on a 9 to 5 schedule, especially with a new baby. That’s why I offer daytime, nighttime, and even virtual support to fit your routine.

Couldn't have done it without her!

Following a difficult labor experience with my daughter, I knew I needed a doula for my son’s delivery. Alanna was highly reccomended to me, and her support was invaluable. She not only helped me through labor but advocated for my desire for a natural birth for my son. She allowed my partner to rest and provided relief during the contractions. With her there, I felt comfortable moving around during labor. It was like having a sister with me, one that is extremely knowledgeable in labor and delivery. She is reliable and was there for me anytime I believed I was in labor. She maintains a professional and compassionate demeanor throughout the process. If I need a doula again, she will 100% be the one I reach out to.

So helpful, sweet, and supportive

Bringing our baby into this world was an 84 hour journey from water breaking to her birth, full of twists and turns. Alanna helped us navigate it all - she was there to help us try different movements to get baby into a good position and active labor going, comforted me during the many tears as my birth plan fell apart again and again, was there to talk through the tough decisions and support us throughout our transfer to the hospital, as well as offering so much hands-on physical support during labor. My husband was very grateful for her as well, turning to her for questions and reassurance as a first time dad, and was able to get some rest during the long labor while she was there for me. She was everything a doula should be, supportive physically and emotionally. We truly don’t know how we would have made it through without her!
